Left Handers v Right Handers
A true clash of the titans sporting event occurred on Saturday, superseding that of Vieira v Keane, Ali v Frasier, or O'Sullivan v Hendry...... it was Left Handers v Right Handers.
John T Martin captained the lefties and John Ribbins skippered the righties. With 12 man teams playing 4 ball better ball and the lefties having little more than a dozen members to pick from, how could they stand a chance. John's 12 lefties had a combined handicap of 173 compared to 'Ribbo's' 12 righties handicap of 112, on paper there could only be 1 winner, surely?
Things were much tighter than the start sheet suggested, John T Martin led by example and with the occasional bit of assistance from his partner, Mike Bush, ran out an early winner. Dr John Grace and Ray Pooley came up against some very noisy opposition, but cream rises and again the lefties had too much in the tank. Even a sound thrashing didn't shut him up mind. With four matches complete it was 2-2 and things were tense, but as the fifth match eased to a conclusion on the 15th green, Ian Thomsitt and Keith Pearce having ground another couple of hapless chaps to dust, it all came down to the last group.
Jordan Watts & John Potter, playing in the right spirit early on, had slipped to 4 down at the turn, but realising their match might have bearing on the overall result and thereby who got to pay for lunch, they eased through the gears to claim a half on the last and ensure the lefties, as usual, ran out winners once again.
I would list the right handers team, but who's ever interested in a bunch of losers!
Bubba & Phil would struggle to get a look in with this side now!
Aimpoint Clinic
The long awaited arrival of Aimpoint is finally over because on Saturday 26th September, James Skelton, Aimpoint specialist, will be running a clinic here at R&CPGC. The cost is £100 for the 2 hour session and will run from 9:30 - 11:30am.

What You Will Learn;
How to accurately identify slope

How to handle changing or multiple slopes
How to manage speed control
How to determine optimum approach shot strategies
