Demo Days

This week we host two Demo Days and it's not too late to register your interest.

Saturday (21st) we have TaylorMade on site.  Come and try the all new R15 & Aero Burner ranges of woods and hybrids, plus the fantastic RSi 1 & RSi 2 irons.  I've put the irons through their paces using the GC2 against my own TaylorMade MB irons and the performance for those off centre hits is amazing.  Of course I had to try really hard to make any off centre hits, but that's not the same for us all!

Then, Tuesday (24th) sees PING on site with the excellent G30 range & exciting new LADIES RHAPSODY range.

Rob's Clinics

With the clocks going forward next weekend and the days getting longer there's more time available for fine tuning your golf game.

I think most of us would agree that so many shots are wasted on or around the putting green, so in order to help you get ready for the season, I’ll be running a series of short game clinics. The dates for the clinics are:

• Bunker play         Sunday 5th April at 10:30 – 11:30
• Putting                 Sunday 12th April at 10:30 – 11:30
• Chipping              Sunday 19th April at 10:30 – 11:30

The aim of each session is to refresh your basic fundamentals in each of the above categories. Each session will last 60 minutes and cost £10.  A maximum of 4 students per class, places will be reserved on a first come first serve basis - all booking to be made via the Proshop.

The Game Changer

The all new, 'State of the Art', GC2 launch monitor has been hard at work fitting clubs for several members.  Results have been outstanding!  I've witnessed increases in both distance and consistency.

This week I completed my first Gapping sessions with Paul Gray.  With the help of the GC2 we worked through each club in Paul’s bag to establish exactly how far he carries the ball. After one hour the GC2 had given detailed measurements for Paul to take away.  Along with the invaluable information, Paul is now confident he now knows the right club for every shot.

I've since 'Gapped'  Jo Beslee and Roger Robinson, both were mightily impressed and I can't wait for their feedback.

Account Payments

Please be aware that all outstanding Pro Shop accounts need to be cleared by the end of March, in time for the Club's year end accounting.  Feel free to drop in and check your balance any time.  No doubt some members will have forgotten things they purchased in good faith on account, so I will be contacting folk over the next week or so with gentle reminders.

This week we took delivery of 3 brand new Motocaddy rental trollies.  The old rental trollies sold like hot cakes for a bargain price after we decided it was time to upgrade to lithium batteries.  Accompanied by a slick new S1 trolley with sparkling white wheels and frame, we aim to maintain the level of service we pride ourselves on in the Pro Shop.

The US Masters 

The US Masters is only a moment away and signifies the start to what I’m sure will be an incredible season. Some interesting questions  need to be answered:

Will Rory move one step closer to retaining all four Majors?

Can Tiger regain the kind of form he once had?

But more importantly, who will win our MASTERS SWEEPSTAKE?!

Last year we fielded 150 teams, the largest since records began, generating a whopping prize fund of £1500 spread over 10 winners.  2014 winner Sue Siddle is keen to defend her title throwing down the Green Jacket to any worthy challengers.  Entry forms will be available in the Pro shop, or to download via the clubs website from Monday 30th March
