Late night Shopping Extravaganza!
And what an extravaganza it was too.
But first a big thank you to the Indoor Bowling Crew that very kindly changed their night to accommodate us. It was very much appreciated.
No sooner had 5:00 pm passed folk were crossing the threshold and enjoying our hospitality. John Garner Christened proceedings, popping the cork on the first of several bottles of bubbly.
It's not just that we have a quality range of premium products, at fiercely competitive prices. It's not just that we offer a very friendly and personal service. I'm even loath to highlight the aftersales we provide that internet shoppers can only dream of. What does bear mention is the fact that it's your shop, each and every one of our members is a shareholder in the business. It's a win/win as the vernacular might have it.

Sales on the night were fantastic. Don Harper, one of many satisfied customers, walked away with the marvellous Motocaddy M1 trolley, with the lithium option. I'm sure he said he'll be back in the new year if he doesn't get those wheel covers for Christmas. The night really was a fantastic success as members and their spouses came in a steady flow. Even as the clock struck 9:00 pm and the shutter was finally locked, Henry Phillips drew into the car park with Elliott and the shop duly re-opened to service their desire.
A big thank you goes to all those that came along, too many to mention everyone here. If you missed out, don't fret, we'll be doing it all again next December.
Swindle Christmas Dinner
After a solid year battling away three times a week to amass the best aggregate over fifteen rounds, the Woodward Trophy, named after the late, great, John Woodward, rest his soul, had long been decided and all that remained was for battle to be done over the Christmas Bash prizes. Folk were sitting down to breakfast in the clubhouse from 9:00 am and there was a steady flow of diners over the next one and a half hours, duly the whole field were sated and teed off.
As ever with these affairs competition was keen, yet good humoured. The friendly nature of the 'Swindle' endures all that befalls it and very rarely is a cross word heard, except of course when Brian's around, then it's a veritable feast of wisdom.
Christmas spirit may have been available in spades, but that didn't stop some of the field producing stellar performances. Pick of the bunch was Duncan Enwright, his 40 point haul too strong for even the fiercest competitors as he won the day.
A splendid meal and copious amounts of bonhomie gave best to the prize giving, as this year's Woodward Trophy headliners were Peter Bobbett, averaging 38.5, Martin Pegg, with a commendable 38.6, but out on his own with 39.5 it was Frank Skinner.
Christmas Eve Staff Challenge
In the spirit of the season we throw down our annual Christmas Eve Staff Challenge to all you lovely members. Join us at 10:30am for coffee before hitting the 'links' for a shotgun start at 11:00am, 9 hole Texas Scramble. All you need do is assemble a team of 4 lambs and come to the slaughter.
Playing from the BLUE tees, your target will be to better the Staff Team's medal score. For achieving this you will be handsomely rewarded, as well as being lavished with our legendary hospitality in the Lounge after.
If you need a convenient excuse to avoid Bluewater, or you just relish the challenge, register your team of four in the Pro Shop. Only three places left, don't delay. It's only £3 per head too!!

New for January is the £9.99 taster lesson for all those that haven't had a lesson, but would like to give it a try.
Vouchers are available in the Shop, one per person and first come first served as there are only so many hours in the day! In return you get a standard half hour lesson and an insight into the feel of being coached.
