New arrivals
If you popped into the Pro Shop at the start of the week you would have thought you walked into a warzone; there was boxes everywhere, naked mannequins all over the place, display units in several pieces and no signs of being a Pro Shop.
We were in actual fact trying to piece together a re-jig of the Pro Shop in order to display all the BRAND-NEW Autumn/Winter clothing ready for you to get into this weekend. Take a look below to see what's new...
|
FootJoy
Making its return after a few years’ absence is FootJoy sporting the R&CPGC logo in full colour and tonal on some very fetching garments. You'll find all the necessities to still wear the badge with pride during the winter months.
If you're on an away day, from the moment you arrive you can fly the R&CPGC flag with 1/4 zip fleece, in the bar with long and short sleeve polo shirts and you can even sport the crest when the weather turns dismal and the heavens open with the waterproof jackets. |
Peter Millar
Our newbie for summer 2019, Peter Millar, has now reserved its spot in the Pro Shop with its winter clothing. There's not only golf clothing but some very nice coats and body warmers which wouldn't look out of place out shopping, down the pub or just generally outside of golf...see if you can spot which ones I'm talking about.

Under Armour
Our biggest seller over the past few years has replenished with some awesome sweaters, jackets and body warmers designed to keep the chill out utilising Under Armour's tried and tested Heat Gear technology. The days of layers upon layers is now a thing of the past. You can also keep the frost off your head with the latest bobble hats and snoods and keeping the feeling in your fingers will be much easier with the Heat Gear mittens. |
Goodbye laces. Hello Boa Technology in today's golf equipment continues to amaze us year-on-year, but it's not just our clubs that are making strides in the tech department. Believe it or not, golf shoes are some of the most advanced products in the market thanks to the evolution of the Boa Fit System, which is replacing traditional laces. Not only does it fasten your shoe, but when the Boa dial is on the heel of your shoe, it pulls your foot back and down to provide the perfect fit for extreme comfort and stability out on the course. |

Titleist Fitting Day Now our new hardware brand, Titleist, has made itself comfortable in the Pro Shop it's about time we let the R&CPGC patrons loose on the new clubs. On Friday, 11 October our Titleist expert will be at R&CPGC finding solutions that will revolutionise your golf game. You'll get the opportunity to test drive the TS woods, BRAND NEW T series irons and ever-popular SM7 wedges.

Keeping you up to date
We had 2 teams in action on Sunday; the Perman Shield team were in action at Wrotham Heath GC in a bid to secure their place in the final to defend their title. We also had the Top Club team up against Gillingham GC, here's how both matches got on...
Perman Shield
Captain Bob Florence took his side to the fiddly Wrotham Heath GC where home advantage could prove to make for a tough day's work. The morning foursomes suggested differently, however, with our boys claiming a 3 1/2 - 1/2 lead at lunch.
The R&CPGC steamroll continued into the afternoon singles with an 8-1 victory giving a final score of 10 1/2 - 1 1/2 in favour of the defending champions. With the final due to be played the same day as the Kent Amateur Foursomes final, there will have to be a change of date as R&CPGC are in both. We'll keep you posted once a date has been agreed. |

Top Club
Another division of R&CPGC club teams were in their own semi-final, Top Club. There are just 2 fourballs with a twist. One fourball plays at their home course and the other plays at their opponent's course with both matches being played to an 18 hole conclusion, both scores are combined to find a winner.
The opponents were Gillingham GC and representing R&CPGC were Tony Hastings an d Gary Underwood who travelled to Gillingham GC and Keith Jenkins and Lee Bedford who stayed at R&CPGC.
Captain Tony and Gary sealed a 2UP victory and were eagerly waiting for the other result. Unfortunately, Keith and Lee lost 2DOWN meaning they would have to go to a playoff, survival of the fittest! Keith and Lee found another gear on the 23rd hole to seal the win and march yet another R&CPGC team onto another final! |
Bonus Ball
Last week's lucky winner was Steve Angus who expertly chose number 28 to bag himself two Under Armour polo shirts. This week's sheet is underway and waiting for it's next winner...will it be you?
|
It's great walking to the first tee with a new driver in hand (that's been custom fitted to suit your swing, of course) that you know will help you outdrive your playing partners, but sometimes it can be a simple change to the ball that you're using that has the biggest effect on your game. |
| The all-new Srixon AD333 golf ball |
