Callaway Apex Irons One of the slickest, most popular irons in recent years has just undergone an upgrade. Take a look below at how Callaway have improved their number 1 selling iron... Soft Feel - Made from a forged 1025 mild carbon steel body gives the Apex iron it's silky soft feel off the clubface and angelic sound at impact. Callaway have even engineered their proprietary urethane microspheres meaning when you do mishit the shot you won't experience any of those horrendous vibrations and clubhead speed will not suffer. Consistent Distances - Callaway's infamous 360 Cup Face, a thin & flexible rim around the perimeter of the clubface, flexes at impact promoting better distance on off centre hits. In the short irons, VFT technology allows for more aggressive shot making while still having a consistent gapping with the rest of the irons.

Optimum Control - due to the multi material nature of the Apex, Callaway are able re-position the Centre of Gravity in each iron making for optimum launch, more consistent ball flight & awesome pin point control throughout the set. Premium Craftsmanship & Components - Aside from all this game enhancing technology, Apex still has that players shape and platinum chrome finish all held together with some awesome premium components. Our Callaway Fitting Kit has all the different head and shaft options so if you would like to take the Apex for a test drive pop into the ProShop and speak to one of the team. Likewise take a look at the section below about different Fitting Day options we have in store for you.

Callaway video release We've seen what Callaway has to offer in the players' range but what about the game improver irons? Well here's a sneak peak at the new Big Bertha iron... I hope it gets your juices flowing, hang tight as we'll be giving away more information in coming weeks! |
A good showing from Alfie... Alfie Plant made his first appearance on The European Tour this season at the Saudi International at Royal Greens G&CC in Saudi Arabia where a star studded field at the inaugural event. World number 2 Dustin Johnson went to claim victory by two shots, but how did our boy Alfie do? Well, to say Alfie got off to a flying start could be somewhat of an understatement! Starting on the back 9, he managed to fire in 7 birdies and stood atop of the leaderboard by a handful of shots; combined with a 2 over par back 9, Alfie knocked in a 5 under par 65 and was still sat at the top of the tree for the best part of the day. A second round 74 left him on 1 under par at the halfway stage and more importantly, inside the cut line! Weekend rounds of 72 &73 left him on 4 over par for the week. Alfie's exciting journey continues...

Bonus Ball Last week's lucky winner was Martin Simpson with number 12 and if that isn't enough he won the Bonus Ball the week before as well...and with number 12 again! Martin, if you could pick 6 lottery numbers for me this week, I'd be very appreciative! He has bagged himself an Oscar Jacobson sweater & jacket. The sheet's open for this week's draw so make sure you get your number before Martin takes it and makes it a hat trick! |

[* END *] We all love new golf equipment – be it balls, clubs or shoes; there’s nothing like stepping out onto the course knowing that everything in your bag is in pristine condition. Except, for the majority of golfers, there’s always one thing which is often forgotten about... |
| How old are your grips? |
| Losing control during your swing? |
|
If you pulled a club out of your bag now, what state would your grips be in? You’ll probably notice that they’re at the very least losing some of the tackiness they once had or, in the worst cases, worn away so badly that they’re completely unrecognizable - a clear sign they need to be replaced. The benefits to getting your clubs regripped are huge, and they can even improve your performance. Take the ALIGN grips from Golf Pride; these have a raised edge on the back (red part of grip seen here) to perfect your hand placement every time. |
|
As you can see, we're currently running a promotion where you can get your 7-iron regripped for FREE; all you need to do is pop in-store and decide which of these grips you want to try out. |
