[* END *]Callaway XR Speed Driver
Yet another new addition to the ProShop this week in the shape of the BRAND NEW Callaway XR Speed Driver. We've a few demo clubs for now until they officially launch on Tuesday 1st May. We've taken a closer look at what it can do... Higher ball speed - with Callaway's X Face VFT technology, you won't see a dramatic lose in ball speed & distance on those off centre hits. X Face VFT means the clubface has variable thickness making it ultra forgiving. Carbon composite crown - the crown is 45% lighter than its predecessor, XR16, which lowers the centre of gravity making the ball launch higher getting you more distance. Refined head shape - with enhanced aerodynamic efficiency, airflow has been improved over and around the head thanks to the Speed Step for faster clubhead speed. Premium shaft - one of the most popular premium shafts now comes as a stock shaft in the XR Speeder, Project X HZRDUS. A shaft which is also used in the Epic driver! Optifit adjustability - 8 way adjustable sleeve lets you adjust lie angle, neutral or draw bias, as well adjusting loft, plus 2 degrees or minus 1 degree

Atkin Challenge Cup Last weekend saw 145 of the R&CPGC faithful battle it out to become the Atkin Challenge Cup Champion 2018. On what as a glorious day, the scoring was just as good with three people sitting atop of the tree with a nett 65; John Dick, Dean Lanning & Peter Hewlett...a countback was required. Due to his sensational back nine of a gross 1 under par, Peter Hewlett was crowned the winner! Peter set himself the target of a single figure handicap by the end of 2018 but with this blistering round he has accomplished that already! Rumour has it, he's now targeting an entry into The Open Championship at Carnoustie. Peter also got a healthy injection into his ProShop account too. Well done Peter, more of the same!

Welcome back We've had a recent influx of some familiar faces returning to R&CPGC which will make our scratch team a force to be reckoned with once more. Some of the returning faces are also making a living on a number of tours and so to keep you in the loop we will be reporting how our boys are getting on as well as the ones who are part of the furniture. Rob Osmond - the old seasoned, rock steady, ever consistent. Rob was awarded the Hinge Trophy 2018 crown for his superb display at Prince's GC back in January, the final was due to be played a few weeks later but due to poor weather got cancelled. A new rearranged date couldn't be found so the results were from Prince's GC were used. Well done Rob, a great accomplishment! Jack Colegate - Jack has recently returned to R&CPGC and on his first outing he won on the Jamega Tour at Essendon Country Club. With rounds of 67 & 71, totalling 8 under par, Jack claimed a 1 shot victory and a handsome cheque for £3,500.

Did you know? If you're thinking of treating yourself, please keep your ProShop in mind, whether that be new clubs, clothing or even golf balls. Spending in the ProShop only benefits you because every bit of profit goes straight back into your golf club, what other retailer gives you this? You'll reap the rewards because that profit could be spent on all kinds of improvements in the clubhouse, on the course, practice facilities or it could even go to reducing your membership renewals. But in order to achieve this we need your help, please switch your spend to your club ProShop, it makes financial sense all round. Don't hesitate to ask us to match any deal you find because we will always endeavour to do so but we always look to beat it as well. Another great benefit of using the ProShop is our after sale service, thanks to our wonderful relationship with all our companies, we can sort any problem you may have and give you a replacement to use in the mean time. What website can do that for you? Contact us here to find out more.

Urethane cover? So what... |
A common phrase we hear here in the shop is: “It’s round and white, it can’t be that different”. The truth is that every single golf ball is unique in some way – whether it’s the ball’s core, layers or dimple pattern – but there is one thing that all premium balls have in common… |
Try Urethane with the Z-Star and Z-Star XV Like all tour-level golf balls, the Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star XV boast a Urethane cover, which sets the bar for cover materials. Urethane – a soft and flexible polymer – will give you the highest possible spin rates combined with the best feel; benefits you will really notice when hitting chip and pitch shots. However, if you like to play lower flighted chip-and-runs you might prefer other options in Srixon’s range that are made with Ionomer covers. While this type of cover doesn’t generate as much spin, it is slightly more durable and offers a cheaper alternative. |
|
| As you can see on these 50-yard pitch shots, the extra spin from the Urethane cover ball on the right helps it to stop much quicker than the Ionomer cover ball on the left, which rolls out on landing. |
