Your second option is to play a long iron or a fairway wood aiming to land it short and chase it onto the green. This option would probably be more suited to a natural drawer of the golf ball so you can take aim at the dead tree and turn the ball from right to left which will give it that extra bit of bounce and roll to take it onto the dance floor. Be sure to get the draw though as you will be under the trees and might even be blocked out from a clear shot to the pin. The final option is the most sensible approach; hitting a mid iron to the bottom of the hill, into the widest part of the fairway. This way you can leave yourself a comfortable wedge yardage for the second shot and also taking all danger out of play to leave a clear path to the green. This probably is the best option for the higher handicap golfer, there won't be any easier way to make a 4 for 3 points anywhere else on the course!
Even the most hardened golfers get intimidated standing on the 4th tee with trees lining the left hand side and out of bounds down the right. However, no matter how many times they destroy that glorious start, golfers always seem to keep trying the same game plan off the tee. If you're struggling and getting a mental block why not change it up, try laying up to a preferred yardage. That way, you can build your confidence up on the hole and keep the momentum of the round flowing.
