Srixon Clubs

They may be some of, if not, the best looking clubs on the market but Srixon have so much more to offer than a slick sexy looking golf club and here's why...

Srixon have prided their irons on exceptional feel, forgiveness and workability. They have done this by improving the Tour V.T. Sole to be efficient through the turf, reducing impact resistance to allow for a tighter dispersion.

The irons have been made from ultra-soft 1020 carbon steel and put through a heat treatment for a smooth and consistent feel. Srixon have also made the grooves 5% larger than previous models with Double Laser Milling which massively improves contact, especially in wet conditions, meaning a more consistent spin control.

The driver fitting process is where Srixon are really head and shoulders above everybody else with their International Flex Code. Rather than the customary regular, stiff or extra stiff flex of shaft, Srixon have categorised the shaft into 4 parts; butt, mid butt, mid tip & tip. Each of these 4 parts of the shaft are given a rating of 0-9 with 9 being the stiffest.

So, for example, a code of 4551 would suggest that the shaft will launch the ball higher and feel more responsive and a code of 6599 would be a shaft which launches the ball lower and feels firmer.

This may sound slightly complicated but that's where our jobs as PGA Professionals come in, to make our fitting guide our bible and provide everybody with the best fitting and find the right shaft for your game; all you have to do is hit the ball!

Apart from all this fabulous technology the most attractive thing about Srixon is the price! In the time where drivers are heading north of £400 Srixon's driver is considerably cheaper at £269.95.




Golf Club TLC

With the new season just about to kick off we have been amazed how many R&CPGC members have taken advantage of our Grip Bar! 

Since the start of 2017 we've been given over 150 clubs to be re-gripped using our quick and easy service.

We have a very simple chart designed to find the right size grip for you, it takes just a matter of seconds to fit you for the correct grip size, once we've done that all you need to do is choose a grip from our comprehensive range and leave your clubs with us.

If you need your clubs in and out within a short time period then that's not an issue for Jerry, the fastest hand in Kent, she can fit new grips within a matter of minutes as well as to the high standard required!


 

Driving Range Revamp

I'm sure most of you will be pleased to know that the driving range is having a little facelift in the coming weeks! We've invested in some new range balls to replace the tired old ones we currently have...6000 new balls will be making their way into the machine very soon.

We have also recruited some new mats to take the place of the ones which curl up after drying out from the wet winter along with new rubber tees, all these will be swapped over very soon.

Some of the baskets have seen better days with broken handles so we also renewed these too, making your practise session as smooth and as enjoyable as possible, it's just down to your performance on the range which can put a downer on it now!

To cover the cost of making these much needed improvements there will be a slight increase in price with a single token rising by 50p to £2.00 and a range card will increase by £2.50 to £25.00. A range card entitles you to 30 tokens which works out to a better than half price saving!


 

Masters Sweepstake

It only seems like yesterday that we were crossing our fingers that Danny Willett could be the first English champion since Sir Nick Faldo in 1996 and there were also a few of you that were keeping tabs on other results hoping your Masters Sweepstake picks could do you proud.

Well if you were a bit off with your selections or you want to prove your picks weren't a fluke last year, now's the time to correct them because the Masters Sweepstake is now officially OPEN!

All you have to do is pick 1 golfer from the top 10 in the world rankings then 3 others from OUTSIDE of the top 10. This is where the fun happens, we add together their scores and the person with the lowest 4 man total wins the sweepstake. If one or more of your players misses the cut we simply double their 36 hole score so you can still take an interest in the results!

Kent Foursomes

On Sunday R&CPGC got their Kent Foursomes campaign underway against Cherry Lodge GC on a grey, blustery day; which called for steady, consistent players. Luckily Captain Mike Bush knew just who to pick in the form of George Crow, Rob Osmond, Ricky Hall & himself.

Mike sent out the rock steady pair of Rob Osmond & Ricky Hall first to try and secure a comfortable win which is exactly what the pair produced with a 9UP victory making a Cherry Lodge victory all but impossible. Captain Mike and his partner George Crow won by a smaller margin of 2UP meaning R&CPGC win the match 11UP and setting another home match against either Hever Castle or West Kent GC. Well done boys, we march on!


 

Callaway Demo Day

Don't forget this Saturday 25th March we have our man from Callaway making his way to R&CPGC with a van full of new clubs just waiting to be hit! We originally filled every slot but to make sure nobody misses out we have not only extended the time Alex will be here I have added some slots in with myself and the GC2 as well.

Callaway Experience Day

Blue Tee Masters - The latest addition to the Blue Tee Series will be taking place on Friday 7th April at 5pm. So keep that day free in your diary or take a cheeky half day from work, more details will follow.

Pro-Am - Also pencil in the diary Thursday 29th June for one of if not the best golfing day in the R&CPGC golfing calendar where only the best PGA Professionals will trying their luck with their teams to claim victory.
