Callaway Big Bertha Fusion

As promised in the previous newsletters the Callaway Big Bertha Fusion driver made its grand entrance into the ProShop this week so we took a closer look at it...

With their new Fusion Technology, Callaway have been able to combine an aerospace-grade titanium Exo-Cage with the ultra-light triaxial carbon crown and sole, I know it all sounds extremely baffling but in a nutshell this fantastic combination of materials has allowed Callaway to position substantially more weight in the perimeter of the club and further back in the head too. This has made the Big Bertha Fusion much more forgiving on those miss-hit shots.

The triaxial carbon Exo-Cage has given Callaway the freedom to re-invent the head shape design not only so it looks appealing to hit but to increases clubhead speed with better aerodynamics. The head shape also gives a higher MOI (Moment Of Inertia) which means that the club will resist to twisting on those off centre hits. All this means that the ball should fly straighter...even more forgiveness!

Callaway have gone the whole 9 yards with this driver because they have even put 2 very classy shafts into the clubs as standard; the UST Recoil which is UST's first ever driver shaft, designed to load energy in the downswing then unload with exceptional power and precision through impact. The other shaft is the Diamana Red which encourages a high launch with low spin which combine for faster ball speeds making it easier to hit a distance enhancing draw. These shafts come in 2 different lengths making it easier to fit a driver tailored to your golf game!


 

Under Armour 

Another new addition to the ProShop is the Under Armour winter clothing and if the summer was anything to go by, I'm pretty confident it won't be around for long! There are some very eye catching garments in amongst this little lot so to give you an idea, we have taken a look at a couple of them just to get your mouth watering.

First up is the very stylish Storm3 waterproof jacket. The jacket has been designed with Storm technology which not only repels the water as expected but is also highly breathable allowing for ultimate comfort so you will have to find another excuse for the misplaced drive! Just in case you are caught out in typhoon like conditions Under Armour have seam sealed all of the zips so absolutely no rain can get inside the jacket. The Storm3 also has a fast drying material so that if by some sort of bad luck you are playing in 2 rainy days the jacket should be prepared for what the heavens has to offer.

  

Next we have the Storm Sweater Fleece which, like the jacket, also utilises the Storm technology so that water will be repelled away from the body but also allows for maximum comfort and breathability. The lightweight weathered fleece which lines the inside of the sweater provides unrivalled warmth while still allowing for maximum rotation and movement to make those all important swings coming down the stretch.
