Tesla Test Drive

Last week we all had a treat when R&CPGC member Mike Puddy brought up a Tesla Model S electric car and this thing can move; getting from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds! The interior of the car was very impressive with a massive 17 inch touchscreen display with everything on it... like the control panel from a space ship and it took off like one as well, we knew it was going to be quick when the 2 modes were 'sport' & 'ludicrous'! To really show us what the car can do, when Mike put his foot down it was like being on a roller coaster; Jerry, Rob & myself loved it but John, however, was clutching to the door panel for dear life!

He then took us on the A2 to show us that the car can drive itself! That's right, at the flick of a switch, the car utilises built in sensors around the car to actually drive itself, it even brings up a display of the road ahead on a screen in the dashboard! We were all very impressed by the car and slightly disappointed to get back in our cars when we went home.

Team Captains Get Together

The Team Captains had their annual game together on Sunday to get their motivations for the coming year, 7 bold leaders took to the golf course in a friendly game before they sat down for dinner to discuss who's going to make the cut this year. Denis Lloyd and Bob Florence shared the top spot on 34 points with Denis snatching victory on countback, well played Denis! So if you want to pull on the green jumper this year these are the guys you need to impress!

Mid Week Stableford

As the Mid Week Stableford was cancelled due to heavy frost we have now re-arranged it for Wednesday 23rd March, fingers crossed the weather will stay good this time!

Junior Coaching

With the weather starting to improve it's time to get the juniors ready for a summer packed full of golf! If you would like your child, grandchild, niece or nephew to start playing golf, the Junior Golf Passport is the perfect way to get them into the game; a fun packed and informative 6 week programme will ensure they will have what they need to set off on their own golfing adventure. Spaces will be limited to 8 juniors, the first session will be on Sunday 24th April at 11:00am and will cost £75 for the course and sign up will be taken in the ProShop.

Our 3rd instalment of our Callaway Experience Day is taking place on Wednesday 6th April, the perfect opportunity if you have been thinking about new clubs! After taking a trip to Callaway's National Fitting Centre I would say it's well worth the trip as the facilities are unbelievable.
